M16 Eagle Nebula

I thought I was never going to get this one as it's behind the trees at home. But suddenly my local astro group decided to go to a different location for Astro camp and I seized the opportunity.

Talen at Blacklands Campsite in West Sussex

20 x 5mins 800 ISO, Modified Canon 450D @ 18 degrees and very damp

Skywatcher ED120, guided with PHD and dithering in APT on NEQ6

I stupidly left the CLS filter in place.

Being a public site and the hottest day of the year, there were loads of holiday makers there with torches, bonfires and car headlights going in and out of the camp, so i was told that leaving the CLS filter on was perhaps a bit of luck.

That's very nice Carole. I've had a go at M16 this year and managed less than an hour so far. Pesky weather! The way things are going that may be all I'm going to get until next year!

really nice carole. i had a g at this about 6 weeks ago...terrible polar allignment left me with trailers! but those 5 min subs have left you with some smashin detail!
