Hullo, I took this 90 sec exp (no guiding)post-11029-0-87942000-1345668798_thumb.j from a fairly dark site, with one porchlight providing the foreground illumination. I think it makes the tree look almost surreal. Havent posted in a while so i thought what the heck.

The lit foreground against the backdrop of stars is a nice effect. I'd be tempted to either take a slightly shorter exposure to avoid the star trailing, or to take a longer one to get longer star trailing to make it part of the composition.

Have to agree. Either or would be amazing. I think i'd go for a shorter exposure to get a nicely widefield image framed beautifully by the trees.

Thats just my preference.
