Had some great nights while on holiday here, I know they are not the darkest of skies but they are a damn sight better than what I get in Oldham, even got a feint glimpse of the milky way and saw a super meteor on Thursday night. I just brought a pair of 12x50 cheap bins and could see more stars in them than I can with my 10"dob back home, was really impressed but at the same time I feel so depressed at what I'm going home to.

I think I'm going to feel like that next summer. I have booked a week in a log cabin at Kelling Heath and

I'm going to make sure there is room in the car for my telescope. I can't wait as I have never been

anywhere with really dark skies.
