M45 - Pleiades - Very Wide Field - 350D

Recommended Posts

350D with 135mm lens at F2.8.

10 X 2mins - well it was 1.30am

Colour balance a bit out and a flat field would have helped but interesting what you can get without Imaging through the telescope and just doing a piggy back.

John

Had a go at removing some of the unwanted colour

Lovely image John, I really like the widefield stuff!

How far do you think the exposures could be pushed without trailing at this magnification?

I cheated - used the autoguider ( it was already connected up from previous images)

I would think if I ran 2min exp.( piggy backed onto telescope) with the 135mm most would be usable. Never tried to find if it was possible to extend this.

John

PS - Sorry I see what you are getting at , my first post gave the impression I just pointed the camera/lens at M45 , but it was piggy backed on the telescope. - changed first post to avoid confusion.

Love the nebulosity (is that the spelling?) around it. Seems amazing to think they are coming back already.

Had a quick go with Noel's Actions - removed some of the unwanted colour.
