The terminator was spectacular this morning, cutting right across and along the Alps.I prefer the waning Moon, the refractor provides so much contrast .

Thanks to a headsup from LeeB, I swung down to the very south pole and Crater Shakelton. Using a 11mm S.Plossl in the Vixen , then a x2 Barlow.

It's 20k across, what stands out is the crater rim and sunlit peaks. As these are always in sunlight they are the POELs.It's quite a tangle of impacts down there.

Well worth a look, as was proposed as a site for a lunar base,
