Interesting find at car boot sale

Couldn't resist this for a mere £2.50 at the car boot sale today, it is a Stellarscope, like a planisphere in a tube, rather nifty and it actually does work (tried it tonight, between the clouds). It was complete but the mini red LED torch had no battery power left.

Just a curio for me really, but fun nonetheless.

Missed out on an antique refractor at a car boot a week od so ago. My son came rtunning back to tell me that he had seen one and we went charging off to find it just as someone else was handing over the cash. A real bummer, as from what I could see of it, it was a decent bit of kit. Oh well .......
