My first DSO's

I really must get on and have a play with my LX-modded SPC900. I've been so busy chasing Messier objects this week (and it's been so long since I did the mod) that I'd forgotten about it. Thank you for reminding me. Fortunately the current forecast is for clear skies to the end of the week.

I like the M57 one as well. I think you might do better with shorter exposures used for the other two images. The stars appear to be just starting to trail in that one whereas they look much better in the other two. It's possible that the red is a bit overdone too, and shorter exposures might control that better?

Thanks for your comments!

Last night I tried again and made some pictures of m31 and m51.

M31: (30x15sec + 100x8sec)

M51: (60x20sec + 40x13sec + 100x16sec)

Can anyone tell me why these images are only red and yellow?

In Ps the blue channel had almost no data.
