i will not bore you with all details, but be very careful if you receive an email offering to purchase an item from the person.it seems like a phishing scam for Paypal details.

they offer to pay via "Paypal" and arrange a courier to pick up the item.the Paypal transaction is false,and the courier does not exist, what follows is an attempt to get your Paypal info.

there are a few more details on here.fortunately my daughter asked first before proceeding, its gone very quite since asking for some more contact details.

I have sold a few things on gumtree over the last couple of years, and almost all of them have had a few of these scam attempts.

As a generalisation they tend to be poor messages (spelling & grammar) and request further info that is often listed on the advert anyway (age, condition, photos etc)... and then they ask to do the courier thing :rolleyes: At which point they get a polite decline due to the amount of scammers on the internet - I can never be bothered stringing them along like some people do :evil:
