Got home from shopping this morning to find this:

Had become this:

I must admit this has only helped my Northern view, which is not used much, but as they say " every little helps" - What nice neighbours I have!

(The photo does not really show just how tall that tree was!)

Trees are only protected if they have a TPO (Tree Preservation Order). If so you would be in trouble if you felled one!

I wish the people living behind me would do this. My views to the east are slowly being taken over by extremely tall trees.

funny enough a neighbour has just delt with a leylandi hedge, dropped it by a good half height, this has opened up my north east sky, and he is going to help me with the forty foot leylandi at the bottom of my garden, helping with my north west outlook

I have a 20 foot hawthorn in my back garden. You wouldn;t mind asking them to cut that down for me too, would you?

It is always nice when a piece of the sky is suddenly regained. My experience came by a very strong gust of wind. Whether it is act of man or act of nature, the end result is, for us astronomers, what counts.
