Hey Proflight....

Looks to me like you were looking at the Mare Humorum and the obvious large crater at the bottom is Schickard, but I could be wrong. Gepetto and Warthog would probably know. I have just been looking through my Moon books and used Patrick Moores "The Moon".

Sure you hadn't messed up and was pointing the scope on the reflection in a pond?

Though in fairness it's a good example what poor seeing looks like to newcomers to the hobby who have no idea what 'seeing' is!

Kinda mesmerising though!

That's a good little video is that. The shimmer adds to the reality of the scene.

JV is correct.That is Mare Humorum with it's northern rim broken by the Gassandi crater. At lower magnification and lighting angle Gassandi looks to me like a pocket watch with the winder at the top and the hands at 5.25.
