New C9.25 - Dovetail bar question ....

After a lot of thought and many questions asked here on SGL I am now the proud owner of a C9.25 on a CG5 mount. Thank you to all those who answered my queries.

Only bought the scope yesterday so it has seen no light as the skies in Manchester were cloudy last night :D

Out of the box the scope looks great, the mount assembled well and seems very sturdy, actual use will hopefully confirm this.

The way the tube connects to the mount at first glance looks like a weakness. The Celestron Orange dovetail is approx 45mm wide, this fits into a 55mm wide slot on the mount. This is all then secured by one large bolt and another smaller bolt. Additionally Celeston supply a very short dovetail plate that is a great fit for the mount but does not seem to fit the tube at all.

1. Is the 45mm bar on the tube normally fitted to the 55mm slot on the mount ?

2. What is the short Celestron supplied dovetail plate for ?

3. Can the orange dovetail bar be upgraded to something that is a better fit ?
