Saturn troubles

I've been trying to take some images of Saturn, but every time I get it as in focus as I can the camera produces a double image. I used a Bahtinov mask to precisely focus the telescope on stars beforehand. I'm using an 8'' schmidt-cassegrain catadioptric telescope with a nikon d70 camera. I suspect it is a collimation issue, because I know it is at least a little bit off. Could that be causing this issue?

can you post an image for us to see? Poor collimation produces "soft" images. Bad collimation produces stars that are not points but shaped more like comets. A shot of an infocus star and one of saturn as well as one of an out of focus star would help us with a diagnosis.

Cheers

Tim
