Moretus, The Effects Of Libration

As the clouds have come in thick and fast and lunar imaging has gone the way of the dodo for now I decided to look at some previous shots I've taken of one of my favourite targets, crater Moretus. I realised I have enough to shots to really show how libration affects this crater and the lunar limb. This is the result:

Great images of Moretus. I mentioned a liberation comparison thread in my evening crescent thread below, so thanks for kicking one off. I'll post up my Mare Humboldtianum comparison pics when I've next got access to them. There isn't such a dramatic difference as in your shots, but it's still interesting how much difference there is month on month.

Fabulous photos - really good illustration of this effect. I never even knew about libration until I joined this forum - see, SGL is educational too .
