Assuming the spelling is reasonably accurate, the greek dipthong ei is pronounced like the ei in weight so I reckon the first syllable would be said as "play". The vowel a in greek (when not in a dipthong) is like the a in "father" so I reckon pleiades would be pronounced as Play-ar-des (with the last syllable sounding almost like dears).

I'll go along with Talitha's pronoucation, Sam's seems Scottish in sound.

That's the problem with trying to nail these pronunciations as there is so many variations of how we pronounce vowels across the english speaking world. :)
