Someone help me do the polar alignment!

If someone is in the Essex area can you come and help me. If not can you tell me on here how to do it? That website doesn't help me at all!

Depending on your needs, AstroP or just viewing will determine how accurate it needs to be, just for viewing get it close to pointing at Polaris, if its AP then you will need to get it spot on....

Ok, so if I point it to polaris then do I just type in the planet I want to see and it will successfully track it?

Not quiet, your only lining it up so it will track objects, if you point it at a star it will track the star, if you want it to act as a GoTo then you need to use the handset and download the HEQ5 Manual its not to difficult but i have never used the GoTo, i prefer to use a Telrad and Star Maps...you will find the Manual on this site...

Hi, go to the Astronomy Shed website and register, they have video tutorials which really are very good. From calibrating the polar scope, calibrating the mount and polar alignment.
