Hi Steve,

If you want short tubed ones the DS version have shorter tubes but are more expensive. These will have a lower f ratio for astrophotography. 200p DS: http://www.firstlightoptics.com/reflectors/skywatcher-explorer-200p-ds-ota.html

250p DS: http://www.firstlightoptics.com/reflectors/skywatcher-explorer-250p-ds-ota.html

The nebula themselves don't move but the earths rotation makes them appear to move so will still need tracking.

Yes, be wary of the shorter tubed ones. The astrophotography scopes will have both short tubes and a larger secondary, which may result in a little less contrast visually. Also, the shorter focal ratio scopes cost more since they are harder make well. They will produce bad views in eyepieces that can't handle faster focal ratios (usually cheaper wide field eyepieces fall into this category). Plenty of coma (Google it) at fast focal ratios too. i.e. faster than f/5 you start to enter coma corrector territory. You also have to be very accurate in collimating them.

There isn't anything better than the 200 for the price but for the 250 you need an eq6 a 200 will just about do on an eq5 for visual.

As to nebula's moving. everything moves as we are all spinning around a central axis in our galaxy however as this is all pretty much relative to each other the movement will be imperceptible. over millions of years the constellations change shape but for the purpose of observing you will not notice any movement. the difference in apparent position is caused by the tilt of the earth and it's changing position as it orbits the sun.
