M13, NGC457, NGC436 - First light for my obs

Hi everyone,

I havent posted images in ages, since I was building my observatory. Now that its complete I have finally manged to get out under the stars and try imaging.

Although the sky is never fully dark yet I managed to capture some great images.

All taken with Orion 80ED at ISO800 (Canon 350D unmodded).

M13 - 7 x 4mins - you can just make out the galaxy IC 4617 (mag 15.5) top middle.

I can personally vouch for the advantages of an obs in winter! When it's windy and cold outside, it's just cold inside-makes all the difference in the world.

I did try and get out the other night again, but got clouded out, at least it didnt take me an hour and a half to set up just to have to pack up again.
