Which filter ?

Hi all I'm thinking of ordering a filter to veiw the sun I would like to know which filter I need. I would like to buy a filter made already eg a screw in one to a eye piece.am I right that the baader continuum filter is the one for the job.I'm after taking pics with 450d cam would like to get the solar flares etc.and is the ed80 upto the job

Firstly and most importantly you need A FULL APERTURE filter i.e one that fits over the objective end of the telescope. You can buy a dedicated filter or make one yourself with baader film. Once you have this then an additional continuum filter will help enhance details. This will show you sunspots and faculae. If you want to see prominences and flares you will need a Ha solar telescope.
