Great Day and Night

At last, yesterday was clear, spent the day with the PST (slowly getting to grips with it!) - lovely sun spot and some impressive proms.

Then as dusk fell caught a beautiful crescent Venus before it got "hedged" out by the neighbours, then on to Mars - well Mars is Mars - a little dull.

Waited for about midnight for Saturn to appear from behind next door's house and had another WOW moment - it was my first viewing with the Dob and I've never seen it so clear - the rings were crystal sharp and I just kept saying "wow" out loud to myself nearly woke the wife up - but thought better of it and to cap off a great day saw a couple of stunning shooting stars - one whizzing through the EP - lovely!

So the long wait for the contiuing "draught" to clear up was worth it - great day and night!!

Saturn gets me every time and you were so lucky to get a shooting star through your EP. This weekends skies have been a long time coming!
