Celestron C6 XLT Optical Tube Assembly

Is this OTA pretty much the same as the Celestron 6SE? Just with a different coloured paint and dovetails?

Pretty sure. As far as I'm aware it's just a difference in OTA colour.

I've used an XLT on a 6SE mount.

The 6SE OTA is fitted with RDF mount while the black C6 has finderscope mount.

Minor difference really. The orange paint scheme is much more important

The orange looks great, but the RDF is pants... I only use it for alignment.

Is the dovetail in the same place on the XLT? On the 6SE, the dovetail is at 9 o'clock, focuser at 6 o'clock

The dovetail is on the "side" of the 6SE OTA instead of the bottom as with the C6. The finder mounting positions on the rear cell are in different places because of this so you find when mounting the 6SE on a regular mount that the finder mounting holes are only on one side of the OTA instead of both near the top. I don't think they've changed this lately although you never know.
