one of the high schools in madison has a planetarium. i was looking at the web site for it, and noticed a telescope rental link. of course i clicked on it. it turns out that they have 2 orion skyquest 6" dobsonians that you can rent for two weeks for 5 bucks! obviously i rented one. this is especially grand, as i am saving up for the 8" version of this telescope. after a few weeks wait, i picked my rental unit up after work. it came with a 25mm and a 17mm lens. it also has a telrad finder. this is great for me because now i am going to be able to learn the telescope before i buy it. so far i looked at the moon, venus, mars, saturn, and then i pointed it off in random areas to see what i could see. so, what else can i get good views of with this scope?
