Hi here is the Horsehead and flame taken with a dslr. I have posted both because I can not make my mind up which one I like best.

I prefer the first version but Alnitak is controlled better on the second version with the lesser brightness. Olly Penrice has a good routine and a special curve just for Alnitak, a quick forum search should yield the method for you.

I don't have the expertise to comment on processing images like this but I tend to just go for the second one, if the 'dark sky' parts could be a little blacker then it would tip the balance for me definately. Very nice.
