Prom lift off 14:50 BST 22/4/2012

Montana

I was so lucky to catch this between clouds, rain etc!

This prominence lift off was incredible and very fast. The small eruption on the left lifted off with a curious expanding bubble of plasma which I could see move in real time. Amazing viewing for a Sunday afternoon (13:50UT). Taken with a double stack PST / 2x Barlow / DMK41. It is upside down for easier viewing.

For this picture settings on the DMK41 Exp = 1/15 sec, gamma 220, gain 405

(For my normal DS disc surface I use Exp = 1/19 sec, gamma 100, gain 300)

Thats a great result Alexandra! We were both observing the same thing at the same time...

Wow, your exposures seem really long - you're going to have to get that ERF of your SM40 :D
