Help a newbie with a picture problem?

Hi,

I was recommended to post here regarding my question rather then in the beginners section. So here goes.

I recently took my first lunar shots with my 8" flextube, Xbox webcam & Sharpcap.

I have removed the lense but left the IR filter in place & the sharpcap settings were set to auto.

I've looked back on stellarium & I would say the moon was 20 to 15 degrees above the horizon. (south downs)

My question is what might cause the purple high lights. Is there something I should do to avoid it in the first place?

I've also notice some green highlights?

Processing in photoshop (RGB) saturation/lighten, seems to remove some of it.

Be worth checking if the RGB histograms are aligned in PhotoShop.

I removed the IR filter and have no problem with the colour, vignetting however does appear to be a problem when assembling a mosaic.

Hi Spikey

Ive checked the histogram and it has more pure black than pure white. I'm thinking it would be the case as the terminator is so dominant.

However am I looking at the wrong part? I can honestly say I haven't got a clue with histograms & levels etc.

Not much purple fringing. Do you think removing the IR filter would make a difference?
