tnorthy92
Could it be possible to image Hydrogen alpha if you used a clip in filter or alike, whilst also passing it through Baader Solar Film to reduce the intensity of the light?I'd like to try some solar imaging before Venus transit. Montana
Do you mean using a night time hydrogen alpha filter with Baader film?If you do, you will not see the 'typical' Ha features you see from people with Ha etalons as the bandpass is enormous compared to the etalons which give 0.07nm or less bandpass. What it will do is calm the seeing down. Quite often when viewing white light the seeing can be a mess, viewing at far red really helps calm the seeing and give better clearer white light images.RegardsAlexandra
