Well done - that's a beautiful image - no idea how you made it to page 7 with no comments!

Thanks. Sometimes this forum moves very fast if there has been a few clear nights around the world lol.

Here is a little better brighter version i did a few days after(processing only). i found the first one a bit flat.

It's a lovely clean image - is this because of your cooled DSLR or the number of darks you took?

Fantastic result although I can never see the chicken in the title, prefer the brighter version. BOK globules near the centre of the image next to the brighter stars are fascinating objects in themselves.

I find there is a large difference between cooling and not cooling the camera.

Its not so much the darks as i get ok results if i don't even use them but then i have to go around and fix hot pixels.

PixInsight is awesome for noise, so many way of dealing with it.

Nicely done with a gentle touch. Crisp stars, too.

Where's the chicken???

Thanks Olly. I can see some of the ideas in the flickr link alpal posted. I might need a wider angle shot to get the rest in.

I just like the globules near the centre, they look like floating rocks.
