Not sure what has caused the chromatic aberration on the left of the image, never had that problem before.

14x5min subs + 46 darks @ ISO1600,

Modded 1000D @ -3degC

skywatcher 8in f5 reflector.

Celestron CGE mount.

Baader MPCC.

CLS-CCD LP clip in filter.

Stacked in DSS and processed in PixIsight.

Fantastic result although I can never see the chicken in the title, prefer the brighter version. BOK globules near the centre of the image next to the brighter stars are fascinating objects in themselves.

It's a lovely clean image - is this because of your cooled DSLR or the number of darks you took?

I find there is a large difference between cooling and not cooling the camera.

Its not so much the darks as i get ok results if i don't even use them but then i have to go around and fix hot pixels.

PixInsight is awesome for noise, so many way of dealing with it.

Thanks Olly. I can see some of the ideas in the flickr link alpal posted. I might need a wider angle shot to get the rest in.

I just like the globules near the centre, they look like floating rocks.
