Sharp Venus, Frustrating Mars - 25th

I'll kick off last nights offerings by saying where I was it wasn't that great on the seeing scale. Looked like it should have been on screen but those good frames just weren't appearing like I thought they would.

But anyway. I shot Venus first and got my sharpest yet, though I couldn't get the exposure any lower so it still looks a bit brighter than I'd like. I'm starting to see how this planet can actually cast a shadow. Its insanely bright.

Mars was much trickier and like I said, looked promising whilst capturing. But this was the best one I got.

Nice work there even if the seeing wasn't on your side. Waaaaaaaaaaay better than anything I've managed. What focal length were you using? Barlow or powermate?

Yeah, they'll do I guess. for a rubbish seeing night, of which tonight seems to be another

Venus was 60fps with a 2x Barlow (F20) and Mars was with my 3x Televue Barlow (F30) at 30fps.
