Eagle Nebula - wider field 13/07/07

Recommended Posts

I thought I was in for a treat last night as the skies looked fairly clear but just 25 minutes into my imaging session I had to give up because of blanket cloud cover :D Following my previous post, I was aiming for a wider field view of this object but I really needed a lot more data to show the wide expanse of this nebula. Sadly, it was apparent during the usual post processing activity, that there had been a thin mist across the sky all the way through the imaging session! I have been very keen to capture this object as it will be out of my reach for another year very shortly and with our fickle weather, you have to take your chances as they come but a 25 minute slot was a little frustrating to say the least! I was quite pleased with the star colours though!

Well you must be pretty chuffed with that Steve given the very short session you had.
