Celestron 9x50 mod

Decided to take pictures today of the mod I did to a Celestron 9x50 finder. I had a Celestron Refractor that was 700mm f/11 and had some weight to it, so I decided to go the route that others have of modifying a finder into a guider. It did not take that much time or parts to put together.

The first thing I did was to put the gorilla tape on the 1.25"adapter to the webcam and also on the PVC fitting. The tape did a such a great job that I don't think I will be using set screws to secure them together. It is kind of tough to take the parts out of the Finder. Then the next thing was to cut off the lip of the PVC fitting so it would travel further into the finder. Finally the last thing was to drill 3 holes and tap them for the set screws at the end of the finder bracket. The reason for that was since the rubber ring did not come with it, I needed a way to secure the tube.

The last two pictures is my next project. Since the webcam fits nicely into that PVC pipe, I'm wanting to turn this into a webcam guider. It will look and fit better with the modified 9x50.
