My new Hyperion MkIII 8-24mm zoom turned up and I was expecting thick cloud obviously. Lovely clear evening even if a little washed out by the moon.

Love the new ep. However I'm struggling to secure it properly to the star diagonal as the two screws clash with the bottom of the eye piece (this is using a Nexstar 6SE). When I change through the zoom ithe whole ep is turning in the diagonal. Just have to hold it still with the other hand. Not a big deal. Maybe a tip or two out there?

Got some lovely views even allowing for the moon. Had an evening checking out some of the double stars around Gemini and Cancer (as well as big slew to Mizar). Double stars are my new most favourite thing icon12.gif

In for a cup a tea and a break after possibly my longest session so far with my new scope (best weather so far I'd say). Back out to try and catch Saturn before bedtime later on.

Clear skies!!
