Hello everyone!

Hello everyone. How are you all on this cloudy evening?

My name is Tom and I've just started looking up at the night sky with a more interesting mind.

Having just gone and got myself a pair of Celestron Skymaster 15x70 after a looooong few days of researching (I don't really live in a area where a telescope would be ideal) I was looking forward to a good look up tonight. Got home, got set up and low and behold.... CLOUDY!! Haha! There's just been a few gaps in between clouds and I've had a look at the moon, very rewarding, if a little bright tonight. Tried a look at Jupiter as I've read countless comments of these binoculars being able to see the 4 moons of Jupiter! I personally didn't have any luck as it was just a very bright circle. I'm hoping tomorrow will be a more rewarding night.

Just out of interest has anyone used these particular binos before? If so, what do you think?

Thank you for your time.

Tom.

Hi Tom and welcome to SGL. I have those binos, and they are nice for wide field views, and OK for looking at Jupiter, although as you say, it looks like a bright circle. You should be able to see the moons as small dots of light though :D

Hi Tom,

I have Revelation 15x70's that are similar to yours, just badged differently. They are very good binoculars. You should be able to see up to four of Jupiters moons within the field of view (as long as you hold them nice and steady - a tripod would be best or lean against something). Are you sure you were looking at Jupiter as Venus is more prominent in the sky at the moment.

Welcome to SGL and a very rewarding hobby.
