Looking really good tonight

Even before it got dark I had a good look round the Moon, Sinus Iridium and Copernicus were beautiful. Caught Mercury and saw Venus at 200x magnification - gibbous phase very clear. Excellent view of Jupiter in the twilight. Bands very clear and the GRS easily visible. All four moons up - 2 on either side.

Absolutely bouncing down here, but that's pretty normal in the West of Scotland. Quiet night in front of the telly with a glass (or 2) of wine for me.

Struggling with cloud in Middle Earth, we did see some really beautiful craters along the terminator before the clouds set in,nice.

Managed to get an hour or so of Mars with the Dob - seeing pretty shaky but able to make out N polar cap and hints of albedo features on the disk.

Tomorrow is looking good AND its day 1 of 2 weeks off work for me!! Woohooo!!

Stocked up on good coffee and Saturn is tomorrow evenings goal.

Wow! Got 2 hours clear viewing from just before 10. There was the intermittent cloud, but Mars was spectacular.

Through the 150pl it so bright that I put on a Moon filter and saw clear surface markings, especially opposite the clear ice cap. At x240 it was the best view I've had, nice.
