My first go at Mars + Barlow comparison

Well, I was happy with these before I flicked through this forum :)

I'm still working on my SCT collimation technique so there should be better to come.

Anyway I took several ~1000 frame AVIs with no barlow, Orion Shorty-plus 2x Barlow and Revelation 2.5x barlow. The best of each is shown below (Same registax treatment to all)

No barlow gives me images of Mars 30 pixels across, Orion Shorty-plus 2x gives 75 pixels (2.5x) and the revelation 2.5X gives 71 pixels (2.4x).

I still can't give a definitive verdict on image quality, but so far there has been nothing between them

All good images, great detail even in the small one

Those look good to me. I think you might be able to sharpen them just a little to bring out the detail.

Unfortunately my processing skills amount to setting the box for RGB align in Registax and moving the wavelets sliders around (usually too far) until it looks better
