Venus and Moon conjunction 25th

As I was taking my tube out to cool for last nights imaging session of Mars I spotted this going on and quickly snapped it with my Nikon Coolpix L120.

I don't have a tripod for it yet so had to balance my elbows on the top of my garden fence. Note to self: buy tripod.

I don't do this type of photography often but I was quite pleased to see that Venus actually came out as a phase in this shot (if you look close enough)

nice shot. i wonder..... the turkish flag has the crescent moon and a "star" could that be venus (could venus be seen at that angle to the moon)?
