Internation Space Station-25th

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have just been outside to image the ISS and came out with a short GIF. Not the best as the station just whizzed across the screen so it was hard to get good detail. Also, the focus may not of been spot on. The setting used were: [Philips SPC 900NC PC Camera]

Frame Divisor=1

Resolution=640x480

Frame Rate (fps)=15.00

Colour Space / Compression=YUY2

Exposure=-7

Brightness=54

Contrast=26

Saturation=0

Gamma=0

ColorEnable=255

BacklightCompensation=0

Gain=33

Any advice welcome :D

You have to click on it for it to play and then it is on a loop.

I tried this last night with my DFK21AU618 but obviously didn't quite get it in the very narrow field of view. I've had much more success with my Canon 40D DSLR as it has a 30' x 20' field of view at prime focus so can tolerate not being precisely aligned.

DSLR's do get better results as they have a wider FoV like you said. I need to find the right settings and good focus so that my results become better.

Except at 6.5 fps max on my D40 it's hard to get more than about 3 images per pass. In theory my CCD camera at 60 fps should get more but that's if you can get it in the field of view!

This was my last shot through the DSLR:

There's a pass tonight and will see which I can set up in time. There's a mag 5.4 star it goes right by from my site so if I can get that in the field I stand a better chance.
