Evening all, I'm new here.

This morning I took delivery of a Dobsonian Skywatcher 200P; and what better day to have received it! The sky where I am is clear, and I've already been straining my eyes at Jupiter and Venus.

My first light was of course the Moon, which took my breath away.

Looking forward to a long, cold night of spotting :D

Congratulations on unpacking it without letting the clouds out of the box. I'd best get outside myself now in case you unintentionally end up covering all of Somerset with them later.

Thanks all for the warm welcome :D

I'm from Taunton in Somerset, and ended up dragging my scope up to my Dad's house on the Blackdown's.

I got some cracking views of M31, M42, and Mars plus all the other obvious objects in the sky tonight.

I feel well and truly part of the club now!
