More on the Mesu 2 mount.

Recommended Posts

Hi Roger, interesting that you have one too. No mounts are consistently perfect. At my place I have seen most of the big names misbehave from time to time. However, I like the Mesu very much.

" Id be very keen to hear about PC control. "

Servocat has a usb connection, it will pass communication from PC to Argo Navis. There is a mode on the Argo Navis to receive commands from planetary program on PC

Hi, would you recommend the MESU 200/Argo Navi setup to someone who do mostly visual and some photo?

There will be a lot playing with the GOTO controls.

Hello,

Are these mounts portable? How heavy is the heaviest component roughtly? Also, does the mount come with a tripod and dovetail slots?

Thanks in advance.

The GoTo controls are great. The circular scrolling wheel of the Argo Navis is inspired and miles better than repeatedly stabbing buttons with your finger. For visual, yes. I had a visual night with Yves' setup for the first time two nights ago and it was perfect.

Portable? I can't give you the weights but I dare say Lucas Mesu can do so. He makes a pier but I don't know about a tripod. In all honesty this is a big observatory mount but I guess it could be portable. Would I use it that way? No, but you might.
