Weather reports are looking good for this evening's public observation event at Mayfield

I'll be there with the Dob and the Mak ... :)

Fingers crossed on the weather. Never been to one of these meetings before - don't know really what to expect.

Trying to decide whether to bring the 8SE or TAL - and maybe get someone to help me with aligning properly.

I'll be around, Darren will probably be around too. It's pretty easy from the Mayfield carpark as the street light on Bole Hill is almost precisely due north. :)

This will be my first meet, but unfortunately my scope has had to go back to the shop as it appears that one of the motors is faulty. Still, the weather report is still favourable and it will be good to get some clear, dark skies.

Was a really busy night! I was struggling to keep track of both the scopes :)

Still, we got through a good few things - Venus, Jupiter, Mars, Orion neb, Andromeda glx, double cluster, pleiades, praesepe, even pulled out the crab neb later in the evening!
