2011 was my first year for getting into imaging and theres one image I'm quite happy with from my debut year. although this 5.5 hours of unguided m51 data straddles 2011 to early 2012 so I'm kind of cheating a little:D

This is M27 the Dumbell Nebulae

Taken through LX90 with Canon 1000d DSLR and EOS LP Filter @ F6.3

Guided with Piggybacked ST80 and Meade DSI CCD and PHD Guide Software

Image captured with APT DSLR Tool

7 x 3min lights, 7 x 3min darks combined, subtracted, stacked and cropped with little a processing in Maxim DL.

It is going to be a record for someone to post here one and a half later than anybody else But I was always late at school, being the last child who enters the classroom, so why not here too...
