Hey everyone, has anyone tried near Emley Moor? I think the TV mast may be an issue but haven't actually tried yet.

The roads around the mast are flanked by street lights. Unless you can get welll off the beaten track it's not very good.

Had contact from a real ale pub in Wakefield (Wrenthorpe) that will let us have a meeting there for free (of which the sound of that seems wonderful). So does anyone want to meet up in the last part of September?

Rang the New Wheel and they are fine for us to use their pub as a meeting place.

Monday 24th September. Arranged a time at the New Wheel pub, Wrenthorpe. Post code for sat nav is WF2 0JN. Bus number from Wakefield 481 if using public transport (stops nearby within 300 metres). Turn up about 7pm for a beer and a chat on things.

So turn up, have a drink and socialise. More the merrier.

Social. there is no group in the Wakefield area I know of so may as well have a social group. Plus if it is just a monthly meet up it gives time for other things people want to do and nearby is Silcotes which has a large park and is a nice dark area.

Cool! I'll be there on 24th at 7pm. Social sounds good to me, initially at least. If some of us then decide we want to go stargazing we can always find a good time and place once we've met each other!

Hey. Well, this is weird. Was searching for a good place for stargazing in Wakefield and found this thread! Mind if we (me and the Mr) tag along on Monday? We are both armature armature backyard star gazers, but would love to get into it more.
