just been on the goverment site and it states 100 thousand signatures and then it goes to house of commons. so come on sign up:D

Obviously I agree with the sentiment but the wording of the petition is totally unrealistic:

"This petition calls on government to... grant the night sky the status of a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and/or an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)".

SSSI and AONB are terms applicable to designated areas of land/water, not the sky. And what about Scotland? They don't have AONB there, they have National Scenic Areas.

Even if it were to get as far as being officially considered this petition could be tossed out at the first hurdle, simply for requesting something that is patently impossible.

There was a previous e-petition that was sensibly worded: I signed that.

signed and posted on facebook so hopefully more ppl will sign up its a shame there wasnt something done along time ago go back 200yrs and they would think you are crazy that in the future you have to sign a document to save the natural night sky its a joke.
