Excellent Phil, a beautiful shot indeed. 8) The wispy clouds frame is perfectly.

Thanks folks..

I decided to try the shot to include some wispy cloud that was about yesterday.

Must have waited over 20 minutes for some cloud to pass in front of the moon.. :?

Typical :)

Wow Philip....this is amazing. We have the same gear, but yours is so much clearer and LARGER than my image.

So c'mon spill the beans :) how do you do it? Is it through a barlow? If it is I am surprized because I couldn't get mine to focus with my x2........

Bloomin jealous I am to!

Jonathen :)

Stood on top of a tall pair of steps to get closer to the moon JF :)

No barlow used, yet to get mine to focus as well (working on that)..

It's just a small crop from a very large picture mate.. :)

Is it a RAW image? Mine is a standard JPEG, so when I crop it I am losing some definition. Also I am using my SW standard barlow (lens out) connected to a t ring and the tube is quite long.....I wonder if this makes much difference!

Questions, questions, too many questions!

Yep, always shoot in RAW now, gives you more tweakability later.

My setup last night was, barlow with no lens in to give a bit more tube.

D40 "T" mounted to a 1.5" nosepiece.

Normaly I use a 2" extension tube with the D40 "T" mounted to that

but last night I wanted to view through the eyepiece as well so stuck to 1.25".
