Nexstar 8se mount

Hi all,

Just wondering if the cg 5 mount with the 8se is good enough for visual. Iv heard a few complaints its not as sturdy as celestron make it out to be. Is this true, also what power lead does the goto mount take with a maplins power tank.

the cg5gt should be fine with a c8 for visual 2.1mm centre positive lead required

I think I'm confusing myself, the mount for 8se is the cg5 az mount, is it not? And i'm supposed to be a seasoned astronomer lol

sorry different mounts the same ota. I don't have either but reports say that both are fine for visual but the se mount is at the top of its load capacity with the c8 while the cg5gt handles the c8 a lot better. however the se scores in easier setup and better portability.
