First light SW150pl

Just got first light with my SW150pl.

The Moon, Venus and Jupiter with her 4 moons.

Even got an "oh WOW" out of the misses when she looked at Jupiter.

Cold but worth it. Gonna let the scope cool while I have tea then when Polaris shows I can polar align her....the scope....not the missus.

From everything I hear, the 150PL is a good scope, a real planetary specialist.

First thoughts are that it is excellent at planets and lunar. Jupiter was clear with colour & detail of the surface rings. the 4 moons were sharp and bright.

Pleides was a spectacular array of bright stars and i even managed to locate the Andromeda Galaxy which although nothing more than a faint fuzzy was still a marvel considering it is 2.5 million Light years away.

all in all a successful first session.

I have the 150pl too, I like it a lot.

It is a scope I have considered, but it is sooooo huge!

Yeah, 114cm long. it is a brilliant telescope, though so enjoy it.
