The battle of the 8 inch scopes !!

A really good C8 versus a Skywatcher 8" F/6 Newt both well cooled and collimated.

I will cut to the chase - the 8" F/6 won - it was sharper and more contrasty.

Seeing was superb tonight - rare for the UK and I was treated to a view of the GRS with Ganymede and it's shadow just above.

In the 8" Newt there was detail to be seen in the wake behind the GRS.

Only out for 60 minutes as it was cold - enjoyed it though.

Doh - that should be Europas shadow and Ganymede just above the GRS !
