Upgrading Altitude-Azimuth bolts EQ5

Looking to upgrade...so far the collective knowledge of the internet points to these Astro-Developments bolts:

...would people agree, is there an alternative? (£48 is a bit steep for four bolts)

There are alternatives around, from simple bolts through to similar lever type, and at a fraction of the cost. This subject has been discussed before so try the search function above to find links etc to alternative products.

Having said that, those bolts listed are good

I have them on both my mounts and wouldn't be with out them. I was lucky and picked them up used but even so they are a worthy investment when you consider the alternative of trying to get a mangled standard bold out of your mount. You really only need the ALT bolts for £25 not the full set for £48. It might be worth putting a wanted ad up on Astronomy UKB&S. I have had to remove mangled bolts and despite having a few tools at my disposal it's not the easiest of jobs
