Hi all!

Ive just joined the forum this evening and after already having a long thread I thought I should say hi and introduce myself!

My name is Claire, im 28 and im obsessed with all things astronomy! Ive been interested since I was a kid really, but only brought my first telescope just over a year ago.. Ive been dabbling ever since and im determined to get to grips with astrophotography this year!

Looking forward to all your help and advice and thanks to those who have already given it this evening. Hopefully soon ill be able to help other people out as well!

Hi Claire and welcome to the forum. You have probably have already got this book but I would recommend anyone starting embarking on the "dark art" to get hold of a copy of Steve Richards' "Making Every Photon Count" (FLO£19.95). It will tell you what you need and why you need it to achieve the level of imaging that you are after. Will also help you formulate a proper budget as data capture is one thing but of course there is the processing too.

Plenty of info, advice and experience for you Claire so clear skies for now.
