EQ5 Counterweight <> EQ6 Counterweight? Skytee2

Hi All,

Can anybody help? I have an NEQ6 and recently got a Skytee2.

I cannot get the counterweights from the NEQ6 onto the counterweight bar of the Skytee2. Looks like the counterweight bar on the Skytee2 is about 2mm larger in diameter than the bar on the NEQ6.

Really confused as on the FLO site, counterweights are listed for all 5 & 6 series mounts as single items.

I'm not sure I understand, a 5 or 6 is not a Skytee, there's not implication the counterweights would fit is there?

Yes, the sales bumpf for the Skytee2 says that you can fit Skywatcher counterweights.

some of my counterweights had black plastic inserts- pop them out and will fit onto ST2 bar fine

On a sort of related note, I've been using the EQ3 ones on the EQ6.

According to FLO you need the EQ3 counterweights for the Skytee2.

I'd happily ignore that. The shaft on the EQ3, the EQ5, HEQ5 and the EQ6 are all the same width. The weights have the same width hole in the middle and the same type bolt and the plastic spacer in the inside.

The difference is the overall diameter of the weight and the mass. As I said abve, I'm currently using the EQ3-2 ones on the NEQ6.
