How to convert FITS and TIFF into JPEG?

Hi all, I am new in astrophotography and learning how to stack images. Today I have stacked two images (JPEG) of M42 using the Deep Sky Stacker. The final image appeared was saved as FIT format. Now the newly saved image doesn't open in my computer. Not even in photoshop or any other program. I want to convert it into JPEG and want to process more using photoshop. Can anyone help?

thanks but can you guide me from where i can download FITS liberator? I also tried to save the final image as TIFF but I face with the same problem. Photoshop is unable to open any.

You can save as TIFF from Deep Sky Stacker - no need to use FITS.

Finally I could convert the TIFF into JPEG using Picasa Image Editor. I just opened the TIFF file in Picasa and then saved it as JPEG. I stacked two images of M42. Each was captured with 4 sec exposure at ISO 3200 and f/4.5 using 55-250mm lens. The camera was mounted on a simple lightweight tripod.
